Workflow Annotator — Finance & Data Analysis

micro1 is seeking a Workflow Annotator specializing in Finance and Data Analysis to contribute to a project focused on enhancing real-world finance workflows. In this role, you will apply your professional domain expertise to help train next-generation AI systems by capturing, annotating, and documenting authentic, multi-step finance processes. Your work will directly shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input.

Key responsibilities

• Design and document detailed, multi-step finance and data analyst workflows reflecting authentic tasks such as data reconciliation, model building, and reporting.
• Independently execute workflows using real tools like Snowflake and Excel, capturing every step, decision, and relevant input or output.
• Integrate collaboration tools such as Slack and shared documents into workflows to simulate cross-functional coordination.
• Provide comprehensive documentation for each scenario, including clear instructions, rationale, formulas, and SQL queries.
• Uphold high standards of data security and privacy throughout all documentation and workflow execution processes.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in FP&A, accounting, financial analysis, or data analytics.
• Practical proficiency with advanced spreadsheets and data warehousing tools, specifically Snowflake.
• Ability to write robust SQL queries for reporting, reconciliation, and ad hoc analysis tasks.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial steps and context clearly.
• Familiarity with collaborative environments including Slack and Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
