The company's Infrastructure Competence Center (ICC) is responsible for designing, standardizing, and delivering reusable infrastructure platforms and deployment automation across the group. ICC develops enterprise deployment solutions, virtualization platforms, security building blocks, software lifecycle management, and cloud-native infrastructure used by multiple internal Business Units for the customers.

Role Overview

For our Client we are looking for a qualified partner for Windows Deployment Automation Engineer (m/f/d) position. You will support building next-generation automated Windows deployment solutions for mission-critical environments. You will be responsible for designing, automating, and maintaining Windows deployment solutions across multiple deployment models, including physical servers, virtual machines, and containers.Working closely with Platform Engineering, Security, and Product teams, you will build secure, repeatable, and fully automated deployment processes that become reusable building blocks across the company portfolio.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated Windows Server deployment solutions

• Build standardized Windows images for multiple deployment scenarios

• Develop deployment automation for:

  • Bare Metal

  • VMware/KVM Virtual Machines

  • OpenShift Virtualization (nice to have)

• Create and maintain unattended Windows installation processes

• Develop deployment automation using Ansible

• Integrate Windows deployments into the Company Deployment Toolkit (DT)

• Maintain Windows golden images and lifecycle management

• Design reusable deployment building blocks and templates

• Support infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives

• Collaborate with Linux, Virtualization, Networking, and Cloud Native engineers

• Improve deployment quality through automation and continuous validation

• Create technical documentation and deployment best practices

Required Skills

Windows Deployment:

• Windows Server administration (2019 / 2022 / 2025)

• Windows deployment technologies

• Windows unattended installations (Autounattend.xml)

• Windows Imaging (WIM)

• Sysprep

• WinPE

• DISM

• Windows Deployment Services (WDS) or similar technologies

• PowerShell scripting

Automation:

• Ansible (Windows automation using WinRM)

• PowerShell automation

• Git  (nice to have)

• CI/CD concepts (nice to have)

Virtualization - experience deploying Windows on

• Bare Metal

• VMware

• KVM (nice to have)

• Hyper-V (nice to have)

• OpenShift Virtualization - KubeVirt (nice to have)

Security - good understanding of Windows security, including:

• Windows hardening

• Active Directory integration

• Group Policies

• BitLocker

• Windows Firewall

• Secure boot

• Windows Update management

• CIS Benchmarks (Level 1 preferred)  (nice to have)

• Security baselines

• Vulnerability remediation

Infrastructure - good understanding of

• Active Directory

• DNS

• DHCP

• PKI / Certificates

• LDAP

• Networking fundamentals

• Storage concepts

 Other skills:

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

• Passion for automation and Platform Engineering

• Experience working in enterprise infrastructure environments

• Ability to design reusable, standardized solutions

• Self-driven and proactive mindset

• Strong communication skills and ability to work across international teams
