Weekend Backend Engineer

Sporty Group is seeking a dedicated Backend Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of highly scalable microservices. You will work on core logic for complex systems serving millions of users, ensuring stability and robustness in a modern, containerized environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop highly-scalable mobile internet backends for millions of users.
• Work across a Friday-Tuesday shift pattern to ensure 24/7 platform coverage.
• Collaborate with project managers and team members to define and implement new features.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to architecture patterns and project vision.
• Provide support for production applications to ensure smooth operation and quick issue resolution.
• Mentor less experienced team members and participate in agile ceremonies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a relevant backend engineering role.
• Strong proficiency in Java 17, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Data.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and highly transactional systems.
• Expert knowledge of SQL, Redis, and message queue technologies.
• Experience with containerization and cloud solutions including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work independently.
