Upward Health is an in-home, multidisciplinary medical group providing 24/7 whole-person care. We are seeking a Vice President, Value-Based Finance to serve as the enterprise owner of financial performance for our risk-based business model, reporting directly to the CFO.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the economic performance of value-based contracts, including capitation, shared savings, and downside risk models.
- Lead enterprise-wide FP&A processes, integrating contract-level economics into consolidated financial strategy.
- Apply actuarial-style analytical thinking to evaluate medical cost trends, utilization, and risk exposure.
- Partner with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to translate complex healthcare economics into actionable strategic insights.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team of analysts while maintaining a hands-on approach to financial modeling and data interrogation.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in value-based care economics and risk-bearing contract structures.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and SQL for working with large healthcare datasets.
- Strong FP&A leadership experience with a proven ability to support executive and Board-level decision-making.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear strategic narratives.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to influence enterprise direction and navigate payer-provider dynamics.
