Vice President, AI Product & Engineering

Patch is seeking a visionary Vice President of AI Product & Engineering to drive commercial success and innovation within our local media platform. As a leader in the space, you will oversee the development of self-serve SMB products and leverage our advanced AI capabilities to enhance community engagement and business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Drive commercial success for platform products by leading with courage, velocity, and a focus on bold, innovative solutions.
• Apply advanced AI strategies to support large brand partnerships and increase revenue generation.
• Optimize operational and financial outcomes for our journalists through product-led improvements.
• Maintain technical credibility by overseeing architecture, data feasibility, and engineering trade-offs.
• Engage directly with customers and data to prototype and refine product features, maintaining a hands-on leadership approach.

Requirements

• Proven track record of commercial success in self-serve SMB products with recurring revenue models.
• Over 5 years of experience leading technical and product leaders in entrepreneurial environments.
• Technical background with 10+ years of experience in engineering or engineering management.
• Fluency in the Jobs-to-be-Done (JTBD) framework and a deep understanding of modern AI tools.
• Strong leadership qualities including curiosity, candor, self-awareness, and a low-ego approach to management.
