UI / Visual Designer Specialist

micro1 is seeking a skilled UI/Visual Designer to join a specialized project focused on high-quality design systems and analytical writing. In this fully remote role, you will contribute your professional expertise to help train next-generation AI systems by providing expert-level input on interface design, interaction patterns, and design rationale.

Key responsibilities

• Critically evaluate user interfaces to identify strengths and weaknesses in visual and interaction design.
• Craft structured, well-reasoned written rationales for design decisions to document analysis and recommendations.
• Develop and articulate core principles, patterns, and guidelines that underpin robust design systems.
• Review, refine, and document component libraries to ensure clarity, consistency, and accessibility.
• Create clear, visually engaging mockups using Figma while applying best practices in typography, color, and responsive design.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in UI, visual, or product design with a strong portfolio.
• Deep expertise in typography, color theory, visual hierarchy, and responsive layout principles.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Figma and extensive experience working with design systems.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain complex design choices clearly and analytically.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG and their practical application in interface design.
