Technology Officer - Data Platform

The Role:

Technology Officer – Data Platform is a senior expert and external-facing technology leader responsible for strengthening Onex Group’s Data Platform positioning, especially around Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform, Power BI and related Microsoft cloud technologies.

The role focuses on client advisory, strategic presales, high-level solution architecture, market presence and technology enablement. It supports Sales, Marketing, Product & Microsoft collaboration by bringing deep technical credibility and helping translate business challenges into scalable Data Platform solutions.

This role operates within the broader Data & AI strategy and works closely with the Head of Data & AI, Solution Leads and Delivery Leads.

Your Responsibilities:

Client Advisory & Pre-Sales:

• Lead technical inspiration and discovery sessions and customer workshops.

• Help clients identify opportunities to leverage end-to-end Microsoft Fabric platform.

• Act as a trusted technology advisor throughout the early sales cycle.

• Support commercial teams during strategic customer meetings.

• Translate business challenges into scalable technology solutions.

• Guide customers from inspiration through discovery to solution definition.

Solution Strategy & Architecture:

• Define high-level solution architectures together with technical delivery teams.

• Provide technical oversight for proposals and customer offers.

• Ensure proposed solutions follow Microsoft best practices.

• Support the creation of scalable service offerings and reusable solution packages.

• Contribute to the development of Data Platform go-to-market strategies.

Commercial Enablement:

• Partner with Sales to increase pre-sales conversion rates.

• Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing customer accounts.

• Support strategic commercial initiatives and key enterprise opportunities.

• Collaborate with Microsoft on Solution Plays and joint business initiatives.

Market Presence & Thought Leadership:

• Represent Onex Group at conferences, meetups and industry events.

• Deliver presentations, technical sessions and customer workshops.

• Work closely with the Marketing team on webinars, articles and thought leadership content.

• Build credibility for Onex Group within the Microsoft Data Platform community.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has 10+ years of experience working with Microsoft technologies.

• Brings deep expertise in Data Platform and Analytics.

• Stays continuously up to date with the rapidly evolving Microsoft ecosystem.

• Combines strong technical credibility with commercial thinking.

• Has extensive experience leading customer conversations with executive stakeholders.

• Excels at running discovery workshops and advisory engagements.

• Can simplify complex technical concepts for business audiences.

• Has experience supporting enterprise pre-sales activities.

• Understands solution architecture and enterprise technology design.

• Is comfortable speaking publicly and representing a company externally.

• Has excellent presentation and communication skills.

• Speaks native or near-native English (min. C1).

Desirable:

• Experience working with UK customers is considered a strong advantage.
