Tech Lead (Java / Angular)

Avenga is seeking an experienced and hands-on Tech Lead to join a team responsible for developing and maintaining business-critical web applications. This role combines technical leadership with active software development, focusing on high engineering standards in a complex, data-driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of the development and evolution of modern, business-critical web applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and application integrations using Java.
• Work hands-on with Elasticsearch in a production environment, including designing and implementing search-related solutions.
• Contribute to frontend development using Angular and perform thorough code reviews to ensure quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive best practices in code quality, testing, and performance.

Requirements

• Several years of professional software development experience, including time in a senior or technical leadership role.
• Strong, hands-on expertise in Java and backend application development.
• Proven, recent experience working with Elasticsearch in a production environment.
• Practical knowledge of Angular, including the ability to develop and review frontend code.
• Strong experience with SQL and practical exposure to Snowflake.
