Systems Engineer - 5G RAN NTN

ST Engineering iDirect is a global leader in satellite communications, dedicated to reshaping the future of connectivity through groundbreaking technology. We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our CTO Office, where you will serve as a technical authority supporting strategic pursuits and solution development for next-generation 5G Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) and hybrid satellite-terrestrial architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert for 5G, NTN, and satellite-terrestrial integrated network solutions.
• Lead complex technical presales engagements, supporting strategic customers, operators, and partners globally.
• Own and drive technical responses for RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs, including architecture design and risk analysis.
• Design and present end-to-end 5G NTN system architectures covering satellite payloads, gateways, and ground segments.
• Collaborate with satellite operators, chipset vendors, and cloud providers to ensure technical feasibility and interoperability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, telecommunications, or computer science, with 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong expertise in 5G networks, including RAN, cloud-native architectures, and service-based interfaces.
• Hands-on understanding of 5G NTN concepts, including LEO/MEO/GEO systems and hybrid architectures.
• Proven experience supporting RFP/RFI responses, customer demonstrations, and solution engineering.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
