micro1 is seeking a Substance Use - Adolescent Addiction Specialist to join a project focused on assessing adolescent substance use cases. In this role, you will provide clinical guidance on risk, severity, and recommended interventions, helping to train next-generation AI systems by applying your professional domain expertise to real-world clinical scenarios.
Key responsibilities
- Review clinical case material regarding adolescent substance use to document assessments of risk, severity, and intervention urgency.
- Apply established frameworks such as DSM-5 SUD and ASAM criteria to stage severity and recommend appropriate levels of care.
- Evaluate the safety and clinical appropriateness of proposed interventions, including pharmacological options.
- Distinguish between developmentally normal experimentation and clinically significant patterns of substance use in youth.
- Develop actionable written guidance that explains clinical rationale and references relevant standards for non-specialists.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of post-certification experience working directly with adolescents impacted by substance use.
- Clinical specialty in addiction medicine, or child/adolescent psychiatry or psychology with a focus on substance use disorders.
- Active clinical license or registration in good standing with recent adolescent caseload experience.
- Proficiency with screening and severity staging tools such as CRAFFT, S2BI, DSM-5, and ASAM criteria.
- Familiarity with medication for opioid use disorder and withdrawal management protocols for individuals under 18.
