Subject Matter Expert – Data & Statistical Chart Analysis

micro1 is seeking a Subject Matter Expert in Data and Statistical Chart Analysis to contribute to a project focused on advancing the capabilities of next-generation AI systems. In this role, you will apply your domain expertise to help train AI models by creating high-quality, real-world inputs that shape how these systems learn, reason, and perform.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret complex data science and statistical visualizations, such as heatmaps, Sankey diagrams, and correlation matrices, using advanced professional judgment.
• Design clear, multi-step analytical tasks and questions based on challenging visualizations that emphasize quantitative reasoning.
• Deliver precise, unambiguous answers with thorough, step-by-step written explanations, including statistical inferences and modeling logic.
• Ensure accuracy in all outputs by utilizing exact data science terminology and correctly referencing units, scales, and legends.
• Collaborate remotely with project stakeholders to maintain consistent communication and incorporate feedback into your work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• At least two years of professional or academic background engaging with statistical models, data visualizations, or analytical reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in interpreting statistical annotations, confidence intervals, and diverse chart types.
• Strong ability to articulate analytical processes and quantitative reasoning in high-quality written English.
• Experience with technical documentation, assessment design, or structured analytical task development.
