Staff Software Engineer

Grupa OLX is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our cross-functional Real Estate team. You will play a pivotal role in scaling our platforms, focusing on migrating our PHP monolith to microservices in Go and developing innovative AI-driven development tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement new domains from scratch while leading the migration from PHP to a Go-based microservices architecture.
• Develop and refine AI development harnesses, focusing on agent orchestration, context engineering, and model evaluation.
• Provide technical leadership by setting standards, mentoring engineers, and influencing engineering practices across multiple teams.
• Balance hands-on technical work with strategic alignment, ensuring that technical decisions directly support business objectives.
• Validate and refactor AI-generated code, maintaining full accountability for the quality and scalability of the delivered solutions.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Golang, Java, or Kotlin, with the ability to work within a PHP environment.
• Deep expertise in designing scalable distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, RESTful/GraphQL APIs, AWS, and database management.
• Proven ability to use agentic workflows and context engineering to improve development efficiency.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to influence technical strategy without formal authority.
• Excellent communication skills in English, capable of bridging the gap between engineering, product, and leadership teams.
