Staff Software Engineer, Platform(Java)

Sprout Social is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our backend engineering team. You will work at a massive scale, processing billions of requests and social messages while collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure service excellence and maintain robust, scalable technical foundations using Java, Python, MySQL, and AWS.
• Lead the team through complex technical roadmaps and champion initiatives to improve systems and tools.
• Proactively identify and address technical issues while facilitating team delivery.
• Provide technical mentorship through pairing, documentation, and workshops.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience developing and supporting software in a production environment.
• 5+ years of programming experience in object-oriented languages like Java, Python, C#, or C++.
• 3+ years of experience leading engineering projects, including the design and implementation of distributed systems.
• Professional proficiency in English.
