Staff / Senior Staff Software Engineer – AI Systems

CKSource is the creator of CKEditor, a widely used open-source rich text editor, and a key member of the Tiugo Technologies group. We are seeking a hands-on Staff or Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the architecture and technical direction of our AI-powered systems, focusing on integrating LLMs and scalable backend solutions into our production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and technical direction of AI-powered systems from initial exploration to production deployment.
• Design scalable and maintainable systems while making critical decisions regarding APIs, service boundaries, and security.
• Build reliable LLM integrations and establish robust practices for testing, evaluation, and monitoring of AI features.
• Stay hands-on by writing and reviewing code, solving complex technical challenges, and mentoring engineering team members.
• Influence engineering practices to help teams adopt AI development tools without compromising code quality.

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering complex production systems at a Staff, Senior Staff, or Tech Lead level.
• Strong hands-on expertise with TypeScript, Node.js, software architecture, and distributed systems.
• Demonstrated experience building LLM or AI-powered features in production environments.
• Strong architectural judgment with the ability to balance simplicity, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Ability to take end-to-end ownership of ambiguous technical challenges and drive them to successful delivery.
