Staff / Senior Accountant

Simply Protein for Pets is a leading provider of high-protein, natural pet nutrition solutions dedicated to promoting healthier lives for pets. We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff or Senior Accountant to join our finance team and play a key role in managing core accounting functions, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives within our high-growth environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Support the month-end and year-end close process by preparing journal entries and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial statements.
• Reconcile inventory balances across third-party manufacturers and 3PL warehouses, investigating variances and ensuring proper cost capitalization.
• Prepare weekly cash flow and working capital reports while supporting the preparation of monthly management dashboards.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities to streamline financial reporting and ERP system usage.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 1-4 years of accounting experience, preferably within a high-growth or CPG company.
• Proficiency with accounting software and tools such as Microsoft Office and Netsuite or SAP.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and experience with inventory accounting.
• CPA certification or active CPA candidacy is preferred.
