Staff Full Stack Engineer

Inuits is seeking an experienced Staff Full Stack Engineer to take full ownership of a high-scale, real-time system. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who has successfully architected and maintained complex platforms where technical decisions have direct financial and operational consequences.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full development path from database to browser, focusing on transaction design and performance under concurrent load.
• Manage Redis in production for caching, pub/sub, and distributed locking mechanisms.
• Build and maintain WebSocket-based real-time state synchronization for thousands of active users.
• Handle end-to-end payment provider integrations, ensuring robust subscription management and retry-safe webhooks.
• Ship and iterate on LLM-powered features based on real-world user impact and performance data.

Requirements

• Proven track record of scaling systems to support hundreds of thousands or millions of users.
• Deep hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL, including complex transactions, locking, and constraint design.
• Strong command of TypeScript/Node or Python, paired with modern React-class front-end development.
• Demonstrable experience with real-time state synchronization and payment provider integrations.
• Ability to make independent architectural decisions and reason clearly about technical tradeoffs.
• Minimum of 4 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern time.
