Staff Engineer (worldwide remote, work anywhere)

CloudLinux, through its TuxCare brand, is seeking a hands-on Staff Engineer to join our team. This role is a unique blend of senior-level software development and technical product ownership, where you will lead the design and implementation of complex, high-impact systems while shaping the product roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and technical direction for high-impact initiatives, including building a unified dependency graph system.
• Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into robust, production-grade technical solutions.
• Promote engineering excellence through design reviews, mentorship, and the adoption of best practices.
• Collaborate across multiple engineering teams to align on priorities and ensure scalable, maintainable code.
• Continuously evaluate new technologies and methodologies to improve system performance and security.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python is mandatory, with experience in other programming languages considered a significant asset.
• Proven track record as a senior-level engineer capable of designing and maintaining scalable software systems.
• Experience in technical product ownership, including refining requirements and aligning technical goals with business strategy.
• Strong ability to manage the full lifecycle of major components, from initial concept and prototyping to delivery.
• Excellent communication skills to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and consensus-building.
