Staff Engineer

Akuity is a leading company dedicated to simplifying software delivery through modern GitOps practices. As a Staff Engineer, you will take on a pivotal technical leadership role, shaping the architecture of our SaaS platform and driving innovation for our global developer community.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve the Akuity SaaS platform using Go to ensure high scalability and performance.
• Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership across complex, high-impact infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features that streamline infrastructure operations for our users.
• Mentor fellow engineers and promote engineering best practices to foster a strong technical culture.
• Ensure the platform remains robust and developer-friendly as it scales to support thousands of Kubernetes clusters.

Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional software development experience, with at least 4 years focused on scalable web applications using Golang.
• Proven experience building Kubernetes controllers or operators at scale within major cloud environments.
• Deep expertise in systems design, API architecture, and infrastructure management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical direction for complex, distributed systems.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with a passion for enhancing the end-to-end developer experience.
• Residency within US time zones, including Canada and other regions.
