Staff Backend Engineer (Financial Ledger)

Voyagu is a travel-tech company currently evolving its core platform, Radar, into a multi-agency SaaS system. We are seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to take long-term technical ownership of our Financial Core, the system responsible for revenue calculations, payments, ledger-style events, and deterministic profit.

Key responsibilities

• Independently drive the direction of the Financial Core, challenging assumptions and collaborating closely with finance and engineering leadership.
• Ensure system integrity by validating the correctness of lifecycle flows and reconciliation behavior.
• Manage complex financial logic including ledger-style economic events, revenue and profit recognition, cost normalization, and client balances.
• Improve the trustworthiness of the financial model and maintain strict financial invariants within a distributed, event-driven environment.

Requirements

• Over 8 years of backend engineering experience with a focus on financial or transactional domain logic.
• Proven experience building real financial systems such as payment platforms, billing infrastructure, or ERP systems.
• Deep practical knowledge of ledgers, reconciliation, and financial operations including liabilities and multi-party settlements.
• Ability to manage high-level financial domain complexity and evolve production systems responsibly.
• Strong technical proficiency in Python, PostgreSQL, and AWS cloud services.
