Sr. Software Engineer - UI

Brave is on a mission to protect the human right to privacy online by building tools that block trackers and ads by default. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Browser AI team, where you will help create innovative, private AI experiences integrated directly into our browser. You will work at the intersection of web UI, browser internals, and cutting-edge AI, collaborating with designers and engineers to build features that empower millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Implementing browser-integrated Web UI using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, and other frameworks like Svelte or Lit.
• Collaborating with product teams to bring designs to life across desktop and mobile browsers.
• Integrating with custom browser APIs using Chromium’s communication frameworks.
• Customizing native Chromium UI elements such as toolbars, modals, and buttons.
• Delivering high-quality, well-tested code while participating in peer reviews.

Requirements

• Strong experience building complex web applications with advanced state management.
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript UI frameworks like React, Svelte, or native Web Components.
• Proven expertise in CSS for building responsive and functional user interfaces.
• C++ expertise or significant experience working with the Chromium codebase.
• Commitment to UI accessibility, localization, and performance optimization.
