Sr Software Engineer - Storybook

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the team behind Storybook, a leading tool for building, testing, and documenting UI components. In this role, you will contribute to the evolution of the platform, shaping developer experiences and advancing AI-powered workflows used by frontend teams globally.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the Storybook codebase as a core maintainer, ensuring the long-term sustainability and quality of the platform.
• Design and refine APIs with a focus on usability for end users and addon authors.
• Collaborate within an open-source environment by triaging issues, reviewing pull requests, and participating in RFC processes.
• Develop tools and integrations that enable AI agents to build, test, and refine user interfaces more effectively.
• Engage with the developer community to share technical knowledge and communicate product developments.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience building web applications or developer-facing software using JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Proven experience developing tools, frameworks, or libraries for other developers.
• Strong understanding of modern frontend toolchains, build tools, and web frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills in English, suitable for an asynchronous, distributed team environment.
• Ability to form independent technical opinions while remaining open to alternative perspectives.
