Solution Architect (Software)

Newel Health is seeking a visionary Solution Architect to lead the design and evolution of our cloud-native backend systems powering digital therapeutics and SaMD products. You will define the technical blueprint for our infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and regulatory compliance while driving innovation across our engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the overall backend architecture, ensuring alignment with business needs, scalability, and security best practices.
• Design and guide the development of robust APIs, data pipelines, and backend services using technologies like PHP, Rust, Python, and TypeScript.
• Lead the selection of technologies and architectural patterns to optimize performance, maintainability, and cost-efficiency.
• Design secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using containerization and serverless architectures while collaborating with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure data protection measures align with GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001 standards.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in backend development, with significant time in architect roles within cloud-native environments.
• Deep expertise in designing and implementing scalable, resilient microservices architectures.
• Strong proficiency in multiple backend programming languages and extensive experience with major cloud platforms.
• Solid understanding of database technologies, data modeling, and API design principles.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with experience working in regulated industries.
