Software Engineer with Data & Quality

VirtusLab is a leading European software consulting and engineering company dedicated to crafting clean code and practical solutions. We are currently seeking a Software Engineer with a focus on Data and Quality to join our team and take ownership of critical data processing platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and eliminate data quality issues within large-scale data ecosystems.
• Develop and implement proactive solutions to prevent data quality problems from recurring.
• Build remediation tooling and automated checks using JVM-based technologies.
• Collaborate with an experienced engineering team to shape the overall approach to data quality and observability.
• Take full ownership of tasks, from scoping vague requirements to delivering robust, scalable fixes.

Requirements

• Expert proficiency in Java and advanced skills in Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.
• Solid data analyst instincts combined with software engineering expertise, particularly in SQL.
• Proven mindset for data quality, including experience with building monitors, data tests, or anomaly detection.
• Ability to work autonomously in a complex, latency-sensitive environment with legacy systems.
