Software Engineer III

Vonage is a global leader in the cloud communications platform market, providing essential APIs and SDKs to major brands worldwide. We are looking for a Software Engineer III to join our Foundation Engineering department, where you will work on high-performance, distributed systems and real-time data processing within our Registration, Numbers, and Enablement group.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain highly concurrent and distributed backend services.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and help shape technical decisions within the team.
• Design, develop, and test new features with a strong focus on quality and reliability.
• Profile and optimize system performance, diagnosing and resolving issues proactively.
• Support the release and documentation of developed features.

Requirements

• Solid programming skills in Go or strong experience with JVM technologies like Java/Spring Boot.
• Experience developing and maintaining enterprise-grade systems at scale.
• Experience with highly concurrent, distributed architectures and containerized applications.
• Proficiency in building REST/HTTP-based services and working with relational and non-relational databases.
• Strong test suite design skills, including unit, integration, and smoke tests.
