Software Engineer II, Fullstack (Repayment UX)

Affirm is looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our Repayment UX team. We are a fully remote team dedicated to building reliable and transparent financial experiences for over 20 million users, managing loan repayments worth billions annually.

Key responsibilities

• Break down complex projects into actionable tasks and deliver them in iterative phases.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics teams to define technical constraints and project requirements.
• Support the availability and performance of team artifacts through monitoring, metrics, and on-call participation.
• Contribute to team growth by participating in the interview process and fostering a collaborative engineering culture.

Requirements

• At least 1.5 years of professional experience as a software engineer.
• Proficiency in backend development using Python or Kotlin.
• Experience shipping web applications using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
• Strong ability to navigate large codebases, perform code reviews, and write clean, well-tested, and extensible code.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration within a global team.
