Software Engineer (DevOps) - Managed Storage

Revolut is looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join our Technology team, focusing on self-managed storage solutions. You will play a critical role in building and operating highly available, distributed infrastructure that supports millions of users globally, ensuring resilience, automation, and scalability from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Designing, operating, and evolving large-scale storage solutions like Kafka clusters across diverse environments.
• Building and maintaining self-managed, highly available distributed systems for messaging and data infrastructure.
• Developing infrastructure as code and internal self-service platforms to enable engineering teams to operate safely at scale.
• Driving automation across provisioning, scaling, upgrades, and incident remediation processes.
• Contributing to reliability standards and improving observability across the entire technology stack.

Requirements

• Expertise in operating Apache Kafka in production at scale, including performance tuning and resilience design.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts such as consensus, partitioning, and fault tolerance.
• Strong experience with Linux, containerization technologies like Docker, and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and configuration management with Ansible.
• Proven ability to independently design and deliver complex systems in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
