Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and the publisher of Ubuntu, the platform widely used in cloud, data science, AI, and IoT. We are seeking a Software Engineer for L3 Support to join our global, distributed team and tackle complex technical challenges across the entire Linux stack.
Key responsibilities
- Resolve complex customer issues related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other open source technologies.
- Develop and implement bug fixes, backport patches, and collaborate with upstream communities.
- Maintain close collaboration with field, support, and product engineering teams to drive issue resolution.
- Review code produced by other engineers and contribute to improving internal processes and documentation.
- Manage priorities effectively while maintaining clear and concise technical communication.
Requirements
- Strong academic background in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with Linux and open source software environments.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, C, or C++.
- A deep passion for troubleshooting, learning unfamiliar technologies, and solving difficult engineering problems.
