Software Development Engineer in Test II

Akamai Technologies is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test II to join our Routing Services Validation team. You will play a crucial role in the complete software development life cycle, working on next-generation routing platforms, Linux networking, and advanced network monitoring systems that power the world's most distributed cloud platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust test frameworks for scalable, secure software while ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive effective communication and high-quality code development.
• Test and monitor software performance within the Akamai system to ensure seamless operation.
• Contribute to internal research processes and methodologies to establish and share engineering best practices.
• Define comprehensive test strategies and detailed plans for validating complex network infrastructure.

Requirements

• Strong development experience using Python.
• Solid understanding of Linux environments and internals, including networking and security.
• Practical experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Ansible.
• Deep knowledge of L2/L3 computer networks, including switching and routing protocols.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
