Server Engineering Manager, Member Experience

Raya is a technology company dedicated to providing utility through a membership-based community focused on trust, creativity, and reciprocity. We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Member Experience server team, which oversees the entire member lifecycle, including onboarding, payments, and subscriptions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of server engineers, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
• Contribute to the codebase and provide technical leadership across architecture, system design, and key engineering decisions.
• Partner with product, design, and data teams to define, scope, and deliver high-impact features from concept through launch.
• Oversee the development of scalable, secure, and efficient services while upholding high standards for code quality and operational readiness.
• Operate as a player/coach with an expected 50% hands-on engineering contribution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• At least 2 years of experience managing high-performing engineering teams.
• Deep knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript, with familiarity in cloud architecture and distributed systems.
• Production experience with Apple StoreKit and Stripe payments for B2C products.
• Proven ability to lead projects, balance speed with quality, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners.
