Senior/Lead PHP Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior/Lead PHP Engineer to join a project at its discovery phase, where you will play a pivotal role in assessing complex systems and shaping future development strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and assess existing PHP applications, including their architecture, business logic, and system dependencies.
• Reverse engineer legacy code to identify potential improvements and understand system behavior.
• Evaluate current architecture for scalability, maintainability, and technical debt.
• Review database structures, performance bottlenecks, and complex SQL implementations.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation and architecture diagrams to guide future development.

Requirements

• Over 5 years of commercial experience in PHP development with a focus on complex backend systems.
• Strong expertise in relational databases, including schema design and query optimization.
• Proven ability to analyze large legacy codebases and navigate complex business logic.
• Experience participating in system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
• Upper-Intermediate or higher proficiency in English.
