Senior Software Engineer (Rust)_remote in the EU

Mirantis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team in building next-generation, cloud-native bare-metal orchestration platforms for AI neo-cloud environments. You will play a key role in developing control planes that power high-density, high-throughput infrastructure for AI training and inference workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production-grade control plane microservices, custom Kubernetes operators, and reconciliation engines in Rust and Go.
• Author clear architectural specifications, system sequence diagrams, and clean gRPC/Protobuf and REST API schemas.
• Develop custom integration modules for modern network operating systems and DPU hardware platforms.
• Instrument services end-to-end using OpenTelemetry and perform systematic root-cause analysis across distributed systems.
• Participate in rigorous, review-gated pull request workflows while ensuring high test coverage.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience in cloud-native platforms, systems programming, or infrastructure automation.
• Primary mastery of Rust (Tokio, Tonic, Axum) and proficiency in Go.
• Commitment to test-driven design and writing highly testable code with mock interfaces.
• Proven track record of writing architectural specs and engaging in cross-functional design reviews.
