Senior Software Engineer – Python / React / Data

PortBlueSky is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a small, agile team building an internal analytical platform for a multinational enterprise. This role offers the unique opportunity to rebuild a production solution from the ground up, allowing you to influence architecture and engineering practices from the very beginning.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy end-to-end features using a Python/FastAPI backend and React frontend.
• Shape the application architecture to ensure long-term maintainability and scalability.
• Process, transform, and analyze structured data using modern tools and databases.
• Develop robust APIs and responsive user interfaces while ensuring high code quality through automated testing and CI/CD.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools effectively to accelerate workflows while maintaining strong engineering standards.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience in Python with FastAPI and modern React development.
• Deep knowledge of relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL, including schema design and data modeling.
• Practical experience with Docker, Docker Compose, and cloud deployment concepts, preferably on AWS.
• Proficiency in data handling using tools like pandas, Polars, or SQL.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work productively in an evolving, agile environment.
