Senior Software Engineer

Vonage is a global leader in the cloud communications platform market, empowering businesses worldwide to connect with their customers through innovative APIs and SDKs. As a Senior Software Engineer in our Foundation Engineering department, you will play a pivotal role in driving technical quality and platform evolution within our Registration, Numbers, and Enablement group.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop highly concurrent, distributed backend services with a focus on high availability.
• Take ownership of architectural contributions and drive technical decisions across teams.
• Lead performance optimization efforts and proactively diagnose complex system issues.
• Define and champion coding standards while mentoring junior engineers.
• Support the release and documentation of new features to ensure high reliability.

Requirements

• Strong programming skills in Go or deep experience with JVM technologies like Java/Spring Boot.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining enterprise-grade, distributed systems at scale.
• Solid experience with containerized applications and cloud-native environments.
• Strong proficiency with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical solutions clearly.
