Senior Software Engineer

WP Engine is a global technology company empowering businesses to build, manage, and optimize their WordPress websites and applications. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to architect and implement backend capabilities that drive our high-scale cloud infrastructure services.

Key responsibilities

• Build, test, deploy, and maintain robust backend services and platform capabilities.
• Develop and integrate APIs using established service and architecture patterns.
• Contribute to event-driven and asynchronous workflows, including message-based processing.
• Operate services across cloud environments using CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code workflows.
• Utilize logs, metrics, and traces to monitor application behavior and resolve production issues.

Requirements

• Solid software engineering fundamentals with experience in backend languages like Go or Python.
• Practical exposure to public cloud environments such as GCP or AWS.
• Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and scalability.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and modern observability tools.
