Senior Software Engineer, Back End, Accounting & Treasury

Caliza is building the future of commercial banking infrastructure for global businesses, replacing fragmented banking systems with a unified platform and API. As a Senior Software Engineer on our Accounting & Treasury team, you will play a critical role in building the systems that serve as the source of truth for every transaction, ensuring accuracy and resilience across fiat and stablecoin rails.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ledger and treasury services using Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Model complex money movements with double-entry accounting, including handling returns, reversals, fees, and FX.
• Develop robust reconciliation processes between our internal ledger, bank statements, and on-chain wallet balances.
• Ensure system idempotency and resilience to prevent financial discrepancies during failures.
• Maintain immutable audit trails to support finance, compliance, and external audit requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional back-end development experience.
• Strong understanding of double-entry accounting principles, including debits, credits, and reconciliation.
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java and experience with relational databases like Postgres.
• Experience with exact decimal arithmetic, distributed systems consistency, and message-driven architectures.
• Comfort with high autonomy and clear written communication in an asynchronous, remote environment.
