Senior Software Engineer - Ledger

Alpaca is a global leader in agent-first brokerage infrastructure, serving hundreds of financial institutions across 40 countries. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Ledger Team, where you will design and maintain the core systems that serve as the source of truth for millions of brokerage accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with finance, operations, and product teams to deliver high-impact features and projects.
• Build backend systems and components with a focus on integrity, maintainability, scalability, and stability.
• Own the end-to-end delivery of high-visibility projects, from initial design to final deployment.
• Work closely with other engineering teams to improve the overall health and performance of our systems.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience working on complex systems at scale.
• Strong coding skills, with a preference for experience in Go.
• Proven ability to solve problems proactively and deliver defect-free, maintainable code.
• Experience with IDLs like protobuf, RPC frameworks such as gRPC, cloud platforms like GCP, and relational databases like PostgreSQL.
• Excellent collaboration skills, capable of aligning both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
