Senior Software Engineer - Clearing

Alpaca is a US-headquartered self-clearing broker-dealer and brokerage infrastructure provider, serving millions of accounts across the globe. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Clearing team and help build the essential infrastructure that powers our multi-asset trading platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own projects from ideation to deployment, designing and building systems that enable new products and unlock revenue.
• Refine existing systems to ensure they remain robust, scalable, and efficient for our daily operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems in the financial services domain.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to maintain system reliability and performance.
• Take responsibility for the quality of execution and practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience building reliable and distributed systems.
• Proficiency with Go, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes.
• Strong foundational knowledge of distributed systems, databases, and API design.
• Ability to take the lead on projects and work effectively in a startup environment.
• Deep interest in how traditional financial markets function and a commitment to building secure, high-integrity systems.
