Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Svitla Systems is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join a client team focused on advanced video analysis solutions for security and loss prevention. In this engineering-focused role, you will design and build robust test automation frameworks and infrastructure to support a high-performance, serverless AWS environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for REST APIs, UI, and integration layers.
• Develop production-quality code for test harnesses, device simulators, and performance tools that emulate IoT behavior at scale.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable feedback loops.
• Collaborate with developers as a technical peer in architecture discussions, code reviews, and design sessions.
• Drive test strategy and coverage for complex IoT workflows and video streaming features.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software testing with strong hands-on coding proficiency.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with working knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, or Rust.
• Proven experience designing and building test automation frameworks from the ground up.
• Solid understanding of AWS services and distributed, serverless SaaS architectures.
• Ability to work effectively in Linux environments and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.
