About our Team:

Our team is responsible for the ServiceNow Platform, serving as the central competency and support hub for all Market Units and IT Departments across the organization. Our core focus covers IT Service Management (ITSM) and Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), ensuring stable, scalable, and continuously evolving platform operations.

Role Purpose:

We're looking for a hands on ServiceNow engineer to join our ServiceNow chapter and drive platform consolidation, SPM maturity, and integration modernization. This is not a maintenance role. You'll design, build, and operate solutions that directly impact thousands of users and strategic business outcomes. You'll help shape a scalable, governed, and integration driven ServiceNow platform landscape across multiple business entities.

You'll be a key driver of our migration from legacy ITSM tooling onto ServiceNow as the single platform of record, while maturing our Strategic Portfolio Management capabilities and rationalizing a landscape of point to point integrations with third party systems.

The platform and its surrounding integration landscape will keep evolving as modules mature and new systems are connected, so part of the role is building working depth in new areas of the platform as needed, rather than relying only on prior exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and develop solutions across ITSM modules (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, CMDB) and SPM modules (Demand, Resource, Project & Portfolio Management), making deliberate build versus configure tradeoffs and OOB first decisions appropriate to each module's maturity and governance constraints

  • Build custom applications, flows, and automation using low code tooling and JavaScript/Glide API

  • Architect and implement integrations with enterprise systems (monitoring, HR, finance, DevOps) via REST, MID Server, and IntegrationHub; reduce existing integration debt

  • Own end to end testing including ATF automated test suites and quality gates within CI/CD pipelines

  • Design platform automation: event driven workflows, scheduled jobs, SLA management, and notifications

  • Independently build working depth in new ServiceNow modules, capabilities, or adjacent integration technologies as platform needs evolve

  • Operate within agile squads across the full delivery lifecycle

  • Champion platform governance and sustainable customization practices

Your Skills:

  • Proven ability to independently build deep working knowledge of new platform modules and integration technologies, demonstrated by past experience ramping up quickly on unfamiliar systems

  • Strong platform engineering background in enterprise low code/no code platforms, including custom application development, scripting, and integration architecture. ServiceNow experience strongly preferred and a significant accelerant, but candidates with deep equivalent experience on a comparable enterprise platform (for example Salesforce or Microsoft Power Platform), who can demonstrate they pick up new platforms quickly, will also be considered

  • Strong understanding of ITSM process design and data modeling (incident, problem, change, request, CMDB), with the expectation of building ServiceNow specific module depth on the job if not already present

  • Strong PPM/portfolio management fundamentals, or demonstrated ability to apply these concepts to a new platform quickly; ServiceNow SPM experience is a strong plus

  • Strong JavaScript fundamentals, with the ability to learn Glide API and ServiceNow's scripting model on the job if not already familiar

  • Understanding of OOB first implementation principles

  • Solid experience with integration patterns: REST, SOAP, MID Server, IntegrationHub, or comparable patterns on another platform

  • Strong testing/QA discipline, with willingness to learn ATF if not already familiar

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or equivalent; candidates without it should be willing to obtain CSA certification within the first three months

  • Experience in agile, cross functional delivery environments

  • Commitment to platform governance and sustainable customization practices

Ideally, you also have:

  • Hands on ServiceNow development experience across ITSM and SPM modules

  • Hands on experience with Glide API, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, Client Scripts, and ATF

  • ServiceNow CIS certification in ITSM or SPM/ITBM useful, but not a substitute for the ability to build this depth on the job

  • Exposure to ITOM capabilities such as Discovery, Service Mapping, or Event Management useful, but not a substitute for the ability to build this depth on the job

  • Experience with PLANTA or comparable PPM tooling useful, but not a substitute for the ability to build this depth on the job

  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) in a platform ops context

  • CI/CD tooling experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) applied to ServiceNow delivery

  • Experience with event driven architecture, microservices, or API gateway patterns

You will thrive here if you:

  • Solve complex problems with elegant solutions, not workarounds

  • Stay ahead of ServiceNow platform releases and evolving best practices

  • Think upstream and downstream before you build

  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in distributed agile teams

  • Thrive in fast-moving environments with competing priorities and incomplete information

  • Are comfortable building expertise in new parts of the platform as priorities shift, rather than working only within already familiar modules

What you can expect from us:

We want to provide you with everything you need to succeed. To do that, we offer a bunch of benefits (depending on the type of contract chosen).

  • Paid time off: Enjoy 30 paid days off per year.

  • Flexible benefits budget: Additional budget that can be used for both personal or professional development.

  • Comprehensive medical coverage: Full private healthcare for you and your family, including rehabilitation, psychotherapy, and dental services.

  • Home office allowance: Support for a comfortable and productive remote work setup.

  • Work from anywhere in Poland: Freedom to work remotely with the option to access our modern office in central Warsaw. You could expect occasional travels to Switzerland.

Recruitment Process Overview:

  1. 45min video call with our recruiter.

  2. 45min Technical Video Call.

  3. 45 min video call with Project Lead and People Lead.

Join us in shaping the future of insurance at Helvetia Baloise Group where in a dynamic, global team setting, you’ll have the freedom to bring your ideas to life and work alongside experts to solve demanding technical challenges.
