Senior Scala Engineer

Scalac is seeking a Senior Scala Developer to join a globally recognized fintech project focused on post-trade automation and large-scale financial systems. You will contribute to mission-critical infrastructure used by major financial institutions worldwide, working in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Designing and implementing real-time financial data streaming components.
• Building and maintaining services based on Akka Actors, Streams, and HTTP.
• Developing Kafka consumers with advanced error management and offset handling.
• Managing schema modeling, queries, and migrations using Slick and PostgreSQL.
• Writing comprehensive unit and integration tests for asynchronous code.

Requirements

• At least 4-5 years of commercial experience working with Scala.
• Strong practical knowledge of Akka Actors and Akka Streams.
• Hands-on experience with ZIO in production environments.
• Proven experience with Apache Kafka and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in AWS cloud environments and fluent English communication skills.
