Spyrosoft is looking for a Senior Rust Developer to join the Qt Bridge for Rust team. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and hardening a library that allows developers to build Qt Quick and QML user interfaces with a pure-Rust backend, bridging the gap between Rust and C++.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute production-quality Rust and C++ code, tests, and documentation to the QtBridge repository.
- Work on complex object-model, memory-safety, type-system, and macro-related challenges.
- Design and stabilize a public library API, focusing on semver, breaking-change management, and deprecation policies.
- Conduct threat analysis and security reviews of the Rust/C++ FFI surface.
- Maintain build stability across Linux, MSVC, and macOS platforms.
Requirements
- Senior-level Rust experience in production, including deep knowledge of ownership, borrowing, Pin, and lifetime-parameterized APIs.
- Proven experience with Rust and C++ FFI, ideally using the cxx crate to design safe wrappers.
- Expertise in procedural macro development with a focus on clear compile-error diagnostics.
- Strong background in cross-platform Rust build engineering and library API design.
- Working knowledge of Qt 6 and C++17, sufficient to read and modify the bridge's C++ layer.
- Commitment to high-quality testing, clean code standards, and documented safety arguments.
What we offer
- Opportunity to work on a specialized, high-impact library within a professional team.
- Fully remote work environment with a structured, review-heavy development process.
- Engagement in a long-term project with a focus on technical excellence and library stability.
