Senior Requirements Engineer/Business Analyst - Remote (Portugal-based)

Summary: The Senior Requirements Engineer / Senior Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in transforming high-level requirements into a detailed functional specification essential for architecture approval and implementation. This position is crucial for aligning project outcomes with business and regulatory standards within a highly regulated environment for the Swiss tax authorities.

Responsibilities:

• Refine and complete existing requirements catalog based on high-level specifications and business documentation.
• Analyse and interpret complex business rules provided by Swiss tax authorities and standardization bodies.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional and non-functional specifications.
• Create and maintain user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct UI and usability analysis, including wireframes and mock-ups to support requirement validation.
• Ensure full traceability between business requirements, architecture components, and test cases.
• Maintain documentation in Confluence and Jira.
• Collaborate closely with project management, architects, and Swiss domain experts.
• Support architecture reviews and steering committee preparations.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst and/or Requirements Engineer.
• Balanced background combining Business Analysis (50%) and Requirements Engineering (50%).
• Strong analytical mindset to interpret complex or partially documented business rules.
• Experience in regulated environments such as public administration, finance, insurance, or e-government.
• Proficiency with Confluence, Jira, or similar requirements management tools.
• Experience in creating wireframes or mock-ups.
• Excellent written and spoken English (C1 minimum).
• Proficiency in German is considered a strong advantage.

Nice to Have:

• Certifications in business analysis or requirements engineering.
• Familiarity with HERMES methodology and arc42 architecture documentation.
• Experience conducting workshops or training sessions for stakeholders.
