Zaven is a software company based in Wrocław, Poland. We build high-quality custom software for essential industries. Our focus is on practical results and trusting our people, not on strict rules or long processes. If you want to cooperate with smart teams to build meaningful software, and you want to avoid big company bureaucracy, this is the place for you.

We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our project for one of our international clients.

Fluency in English at least a B2+ level required.

Your Tasks:

  • Define and evolve the test strategy for web applications, including decisions on what to automate and at which layer (unit / API / E2E / visual vs. manual/exploratory)

  • Plan and prioritize testing activities based on business risk, and clearly communicate quality trade-offs to PMs and engineering managers

  • Evaluate, select, and implement testing tools by running PoCs, comparing options, and making recommendations (frameworks, reporting, observability)

  • Monitor and analyze key quality metrics (e.g., flakiness, execution time, critical path coverage, escaped defects) and drive continuous improvements

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, PMs, and DevOps to improve testability, refine acceptance criteria, and effectively communicate quality risks in business terms

Technical requirements:

  • 5+ years in software testing (manual and/or automated) for web applications, with at least 2 years hands-on in test automation. Experience leading technical direction on a test framework or QA function is a strong plus

  • Hands-on expertise with Playwright and/or Cypress

  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD test pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar), including parallelization, sharding, reporting, and artifact management

  • API testing - using Playwright's request context, Postman, or similar — and understanding when to test at the API vs.UI layer

  • Proficiency with test management tools (testomat.io, TestRail, Xray, or Zephyr) and integrating them with automation

  • Git workflows, code review practice, GitFlow experience

  • Comfort in Agile/Scrum environments — active in refinements, pushing for testability early, raising quality concerns without becoming a blocker

  • Assertiveness and the ability to clearly communicate quality risks

  • Ability to write clearly RFCs, test plans, post-mortems

Nice to have:

  • Experience with visual regression (Percy, Applitools, Playwright's built-in screenshots), accessibility testing (axe-core), or performance testing (k6, Lighthouse CI)

  • Experience in enterprise or regulated environments where cross-team coordination is non-trivial

Recruitment Process:

Intro call with our recruiter (30 min)

Technical interview with one of our team members (1 hour)

Technical interview with client (optional)

👏 You’ll always receive honest and timely feedback - no endless waiting!
