Senior Platform Engineer

LottieFiles is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Platform team, where you will build and maintain the core systems that power our products, including authentication, federated GraphQL, and data orchestration. You will champion developer experience by creating the tooling, workflows, and golden paths that empower our engineering teams to design schemas and ship high-quality software efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Champion developer experience by establishing architecture patterns, runtime tooling, and documentation that simplify schema design and API consumption.
• Design, build, and maintain our federated GraphQL gateway and gRPC services to ensure high scalability, security, and system resilience.
• Develop and manage the platform's authentication service, including OAuth and SAML integrations for enterprise customers.
• Implement comprehensive observability, including metrics, distributed tracing, and structured logging, to optimize system performance and latency.
• Mentor peers and share best practices to elevate the technical expertise of the entire team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development, building and operating production services at scale.
• Deep expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript, with strong experience in Node.js and service-to-service APIs like gRPC.
• Proven experience building federated GraphQL gateways using Federation v2, including schema composition and governance.
• Strong background in designing and operating cloud-based distributed systems with a focus on failure modes and scalability.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to drive technical decisions within a distributed team environment.
