Senior PHP/Laravel Engineer

Faria Education Group is seeking a Senior PHP/Laravel Engineer to join the product engineering team behind Atlas, a leading curriculum planning platform. You will play a key role in evolving our system as we transition toward becoming an AI-native organization, impacting the education of millions of students worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project delivery by collaborating with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers.
• Maintain, secure, and optimize a scalable PHP application built on the Laravel framework.
• Contribute to SDLC improvements and the adoption of AI-driven development practices.
• Set high standards for code quality, including testing, performance profiling, and static analysis.
• Improve build tooling and CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient deployment processes.

Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Deep expertise in PHP 8 and Laravel 12.
• Strong understanding of OOP principles and database performance optimization.
• Proficiency with Git, GitHub, and modern CI/CD workflows.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and a security-conscious approach to coding.
• Ability to coordinate effectively across time zones including UTC+1, UTC+2, UTC+8, and UTC-8.
