Senior PHP Developer - fully remote within Europe (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Senior PHP Developer to join our backend team and help shape the architecture and performance of our platform using PHP and Symfony.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services using PHP and Symfony, ensuring high performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to bring new features from concept to launch.
• Participate in thoughtful code reviews to elevate code quality and support team learning.
• Improve conventions and review automation to support agentic engineering workflows.
• Take full ownership of features from initial implementation through optimization and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in back-end development with production-ready applications.
• Strong expertise in PHP and deep understanding of software design principles and scalable architecture.
• Extensive hands-on experience with the Symfony framework.
• Routine experience using agentic coding tools on production code.
• Strong discipline in specification, verification, and reviewing agent-generated code.
• Proficiency with Git and modern collaborative development workflows.
