Senior PHP Developer - fully remote within Europe (m/f/d)

JobLeads is a globally distributed team dedicated to building technology that empowers professionals worldwide to take control of their career journeys. We are looking for a Senior Back End Developer to help shape the architecture and performance of our platform using PHP and Symfony.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services using PHP and Symfony, ensuring high performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to bring features from concept to launch.
• Participate in thoughtful code reviews to elevate quality and support team learning.
• Improve the conventions and automation that support our agentic engineering workflows.
• Take full ownership of features throughout the entire implementation and optimization lifecycle.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in back-end development with production-ready applications.
• Strong expertise in PHP and deep understanding of scalable software architecture.
• Extensive hands-on experience with the Symfony framework.
• Proven experience working with agentic coding tools on production code.
• Strong discipline in specification, verification, and reviewing agent-generated code.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within a distributed team.
