Senior .NET Engineer - SmartGrants

emagine Polska is seeking a Senior .NET Engineer to join the SmartGrants project. In this fully remote role, you will collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to stabilize the existing solution, reduce technical debt, and implement engineering practices that ensure long-term operational success.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of the existing codebase, architecture, and business-critical workflows.
• Create and execute a risk-based technical debt roadmap focused on stability, security, and maintainability.
• Modernize the .NET application and key dependencies through pragmatic, incremental steps while ensuring business continuity.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues, performance bottlenecks, and integration failures.
• Improve automated testing, code quality, logging, monitoring, and operational documentation.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience developing and maintaining backend applications using C# and .NET / ASP.NET Core.
• Proven experience modernizing legacy or business-critical applications without disrupting ongoing operations.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and Entity Framework.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure, including application hosting, monitoring, and cloud operations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership.
