Eqvilent is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to act as a trusted partner to the business and a project-owning operator within our legal team. You will own mandates end-to-end, lead cross-functional initiatives, and collaborate directly with senior leadership in a dynamic, fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead legal support for expansion into new markets, including entity setup, regulatory approvals, and commercial launch.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including trading, technology, services, and partnership contracts.
- Support corporate transactions, including M&A, joint ventures, and investment structures.
- Monitor regulatory developments in key jurisdictions and translate them into clear, actionable guidance for the business.
- Manage external counsel to ensure high-quality, practical, and cost-effective legal support.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 7+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained at a major international or top-tier regional law firm.
- Proven track record managing complex, multi-jurisdictional legal projects independently and to deadline.
- Strong commercial instincts with the ability to calibrate legal advice to business objectives.
- Advanced user of modern AI platforms and Google Workspace to increase output quality and speed.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex legal analysis for non-lawyers.
