Senior Java Services Engineer

RubyPlay is a leading iGaming studio that has developed over 200 innovative games and built strong global partnerships since 2017. We are currently seeking a Senior Java Services Engineer to join our Game Services team, the systems-level powerhouse responsible for architecting and scaling the core backend infrastructure that powers our global gaming platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and optimize highly transactional, scalable, and low-latency server-side game services and APIs using Modern Java (Java 17/21+).
• Translate complex mathematical specifications and formulas from domain experts into performant and scalable backend services.
• Drive clean design patterns to build robust, maintainable core service layers with a focus on high-throughput performance.
• Build, scale, and maintain high-volume distributed simulation frameworks to run calculations at scale.
• Collaborate with engineering leads and cross-functional teams to standardize core calculation logic and business rules.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software development experience with expert-level proficiency in Modern Java (Java 17/21+).
• Proven experience in designing, building, and optimizing distributed, high-throughput backend services.
• Strong analytical mindset with rigorous attention to detail and a passion for code optimization.
• Exceptional autonomy in translating abstract requirements into scalable service architectures.
• Upper-Intermediate English proficiency or better for effective daily collaboration within our international team.
